Brian McKnight Thrills Fans with Journey Down Memory Lane at Wade Ford Concert Series | Atlanta, GA

Grammy nominated singer, Brian McKnight, delivers a captivating performance with array of hits from his stellar career at Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre

Atlanta, GA. A memorable experience was ensured for fans by one of the most melodious voices on the music scene as the 17X Grammy nominated artist took concert goers on a journey down a memory lane that started over thirty years ago.  The evening was for lovers and love as the 53-year-old singer, songwriter, and producer sang “Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda”, the lead single from U-Turn, his seventh studio album which entered the top forty of Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance. Other fan favorites sang included “Crazy Love”, “Forever” from his 2017 Genesis album, and “I Miss You” from his 2009 Evolution of a Man, his eleventh album which peaked at #3 on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. He showcased his guitar skills when he treated attendees to “One Last Try” and allowed his fans to be there for him as he sang a song dedicated to his son, Kekoa, who died a few months ago. McKnight really got the audience going when he sang songs from two of the greatest to have ever done it ~ Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing” and Prince’s “The Beautiful Ones”.

In between songs, McKnight shared stories about his 83-year-old dad, him being a professional singer since seventeen, and how his wife, Leilani, motivated him to change the way he does everything.  “I’m finally a good man ‘cause I can only be that good man for that good woman.”  He then sang “Faithfully”, a 2021 release, which he said came to him as he watched his wife blow-drying her hair.  He closed out the emotionally charged and highly engaging concert with “I Want U” from his fifteenth album, Genesis. And, of course, Atlanta’s beloved host, MC Lightfoot had the crowd very pumped up before McKnight hit the stage.  Produced by Royal Entertainment, the Wade Ford Concert Series at Mable House Amphitheatre is described as a gift to music lovers as its popularity continues to grow – it’s a place where attendees get unplugged.  Brian McKnight will also be performing at Royal Entertainment’s SweatFest Punta Cana at the  Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana, Dominican Republic from September 14 – 18, 2023.

Throughout his successful career, Dorn wrestled with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, an aftereffect of his military service. Battling the pain and debilitating effect of PTSD, Dorn found comfort behind the camera. Photography proved to be not only therapeutic, but life changing as well. Dorn picked up his first camera in 1970 while serving in Vietnam and knew instantly that behind the lens was where he belonged. His shooting style and photographs were special, generating a buzz in the industry. In 1985, he began his career in photojournalism, working in a variety of genres. Dorn’s credentials include fashion, lifestyle photography, photojournalism, and celebrity/red carpet coverage. Working with MSNBC, Jet Magazine, and major publications in Philadelphia and around the country, Dorn has had the honor of capturing the images of hundreds of notable celebrities and politicians including President Barack Obama, George Bush Jr, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Maya Angelou, Jesse Jackson, Rihanna, Snoop Dog, Will Smith, and Tyler Perry. Photography has sent Dorn around the globe, inspiring his passion for civil activism. In 1995, Dorn assembled and led a group of forty-two men to the Million Man March. Many of the children he encountered seemed lost. Understanding that opportunities for at-risk youth are minimal, Dorn was inspired to make a difference. Established by Dorn in 2011, InDaHouseMedia was built on the idea that there is room in the house for everyone. With InDaHouseMedia, Dorn’s mission is to provide the future generation with positive direction through sports, music, and photography.
