The African Americans on the Move Book Club Access Hollywood Pitch Fest

Upon entering the room of the Hollywood Panel Pitch Fest I felt the invigorating adrenaline of passionate writers who were hungry for their story to be told. I listened as award winning author Vernard Dorsey spoke of the sacrifice he had made to be at the event. There were a milieu of publicists, editors, media groups to name a few of the many resources that were made available by the extradionaire Ms. Tamika Newhouse the organizer of this phenomenal event.

After, interviewing this amazingly, beautiful young lady I understood where the energy I felt came from as she explained her inspiration behind the development of The African American on The Move Book Club which she began in 2008. Ms. Newhouse explained how she was ready for change in the industry of writing.

Ms. Newhouse wanted to present a platform for unknown writers to be recognized; also she wanted them to have all the resources needed to succeed after the completion of their books. Ms. Newhouse became innovative in her approach by beginning online book chats and book signings. As a result of her success from these events it motivated her to continue connecting writers to the resources needed for their elevation. Later she transitioned her online approach into the city of Atlanta. Ms. Newhouse has proven to be a trendsetter and a powerhouse in what she does and she’s just getting started.
