Philly Weekend in Atlanta 2020 Inaugural Debut June 26-27 with Special Celebrity Guest

Message from Organizers: We are committed to ensuring the health and well-being of our partners and supporters and playing a constructive role in supporting local health officials and government leaders. Our staff has received training and have protocols in place based the latest decisions being made by the medical community during this pandemic Philly Weekend in Atlanta, is a quintessential event that will merge communities together by creating a solid networking foundation that supports and addresses social issues such as health and wellness, education, family development and community initiatives.

Atlanta hosts a large community of transplants from cities across the country including Philadelphia. New Yorkers have Bronx Day and Californians having Cali Day, so it’s only fitting that Philly represent its unique style as well.

This event will bring together Philadelphia’s transplants and the Atlanta community, to share, network and just have some good old fashion fun, Philly Style. The event will bring the experiences of Philadelphia’s famous Block Parties, Penns Landing, Belmont Plateau, South Street and Dell East all rolled into one.

The visionary of Philly Day, Jerome Dorn is legendary in his own right, an honored disabled Vietnam veteran, Hall of Fame Photojournalist, Community Activist and founder of InDaHouseMedia. A true believer in networking and teamwork, Dorn collaborated with Felicia Seamon, CEO of Seamon Family Foundation and Seamon Enterprises and Entertainment; Paul Hooks Sr., Founder of the Philly to Atlanta Group; and Michelle Nelson, CEO of NxtLevelPromotion and together they birthed “Philly Weekend” in Atlanta.

Portions of the proceeds will benefit various nonprofit organizations. InDaHouseMedia raises funds to support nonprofits in Philadelphia and Atlanta for Family Members of Murdered Victims and education and awareness of at-risk youth.

Seamon Enterprises and Entertainment and The Seamon Family foundation raises funds to support the education and programming for aspiring artists (and parents), as well as youth bullying and suicide prevention.

The Philly to Atlanta Group raises funds to support Georgia shelter residents.

NxtLevelPromotion raises funds supporting feeding the hungry, Project U-First and Domestic Violence/Abuse.

The “Philly Weekend” in Atlanta promises to be a first class event, providing excellent opportunities for local and surrounding area businesses to engage the community and support various causes that will increases awareness and provide life-changing options towards a better quality of life.

Celebrity photographer and disabled Vietnam veteran Jerome Dorn embodies the very definition of resilience. Born in Philadelphia, the fifth of seven children, Dorn stayed focused throughout his youth, eventually obtaining his degree in Criminal Justice. Dorn has worked with the Philadelphia Police Department, Department of Justice, World Wide Detective Agency, and several other high profile security groups. Throughout his successful career, Dorn wrestled with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, an aftereffect of his military service. Battling the pain and debilitating effect of PTSD, Dorn found comfort behind the camera. Photography proved to be not only therapeutic, but life changing as well. Dorn picked up his first camera in 1970 while serving in Vietnam and knew instantly that behind the lens was where he belonged. His shooting style and photographs were special, generating a buzz in the industry. In 1985, he began his career in photojournalism, working in a variety of genres. Dorn’s credentials include fashion, lifestyle photography, photojournalism, and celebrity/red carpet coverage. Working with MSNBC, Jet Magazine, and major publications in Philadelphia and around the country, Dorn has had the honor of capturing the images of hundreds of notable celebrities and politicians including President Barack Obama, George Bush Jr, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Maya Angelou, Jesse Jackson, Rihanna, Snoop Dog, Will Smith, and Tyler Perry. Photography has sent Dorn around the globe, inspiring his passion for civil activism. In 1995, Dorn assembled and led a group of forty-two men to the Million Man March. Together, they spent five days walking from Philadelphia to Washington DC. In his travels, Dorn observed a common theme amongst the youth of the world. Many of the children he encountered seemed lost. Understanding that opportunities for at-risk youth are minimal, Dorn was inspired to make a difference. Established by Dorn in 2011, InDaHouseMedia was built on the idea that there is room in the house for everyone. With InDaHouseMedia, Dorn’s mission is to provide the future generation with positive direction through sports, music, and photography.
