MUSIC ARTISTS TMF “THE MUSIC FOREVER” RELEASE OFFICIAL STATEMENT END SILENCE

The newly formed Soul/R&B Band, TMF released an official announcement of the group’s launch on Monday, May 8, 2023. TMF consists of Roame, Congas & Vocals, “Jubu”, Lead Guitar & Vocals; Vance Taylor, Keyboards; Bear Williams, Bass Guitar & Vocals; Calvin Napper, Drums; Daniel Weatherspoon, Keyboards & Organ; and Chris Walker, Lead Vocals.

Prior to the Official Announcement on May 8th, the band was initially named “The Maze Factor” in honor of Maze, and in recognition of their previous positions as members of Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly. However, due to the fact that Mr. Beverly has held the trademark of the word “Maze” as it pertains to musical entertainment in the United States since 2009, the name “The Maze Factor” could not be used legally. Having weathered this disappointing setback, the band then decided to use the acronym “TMF” while legally adding “Formerly of Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly” for the exclusive use of concert promoters in their advertisements.

After some soul searching, it was decided by the group to drop “Formerly of Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly” and rebrand the band as simply “TMF”, which stands for “The Music Forever”. With the exception of TMF Lead Vocalist, Chris Walker, the number of years the other members of TMF performed as Maze are as follows… Roame, 55 years, Congas & Background Vocals; Jubu, 23 years, Lead Guitarist & Background Vocals; Vance Taylor, 20 years, Keyboards; Larry “Bear Williams” Kimpel, 20 years, Bass Guitar, Musical Director & Background Vocals; Calvin Napper, 13 years, Drums; and Daniel Weatherspoon, two years, on Keyboards and Organ.

Although there has been much speculation, misinformation and debate by fans and media outlets regarding the reasoning for the formation of TMF, the members have decided to keep these reasons to themselves as they also continue to uphold Mr. Beverly’s privacy. The members of TMF love and respect Frankie, and they honor his legacy in the music industry by bringing their own new original songs to the table while continuing to perform his iconic catalog of music for fans the world over.
