Clark Atlanta University Hosts A Fireside Discussion with Renowned Civil Rights Lawyer L. Chris Stewart
Atlanta, GA – Clark Atlanta University is honored to welcome esteemed civil rights attorney L. Chris Stewart for a thought-provoking fireside chat on the topic of “Civil Rights Law during the Black Lives Matter Era.” The event will take place on Wednesday, October 25th, at 7:00 PM in the Carl and Mary Ware Building Lecture Hall Room 102. Attorney L. Chris Stewart has been at the forefront of some of the most prominent civil rights cases in recent years, including the representation of George Floyd, Walter Scott, Ahmaud Arbery, Rayshard Brooks, Alton Sterling, and many others. His expertise and dedication to seeking justice have made him one of America’s most recognized civil rights lawyers. Hosted by the Political Science Department, under the guidance of Attorney Mawuli Davis, the fireside chat aims to shed light on the ongoing struggles for justice and equality in our society. Attorney Stewart will share his insights, experiences, and legal expertise in navigating civil rights issues during the Black Lives Matter era. The event is open to all Clark Atlanta University students and members of the public, emphasizing the importance of community engagement in promoting social change. However, due to limited seating availability, attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure their spot. Light refreshments will be provided to enhance the overall experience.
