Grammy Award-winning artist and producer CeeLo Green joins the African American Male Wellness Agency as a local ambassador for the 2024 Atlanta Black Men’s Wellness Day
Grammy Award-winning artist and producer CeeLo Green is joining the African American Male Wellness Agency as a local Atlanta ambassador for the organization’s 2024 Atlanta Black Men’s Wellness Day on Saturday, September 14, 7:00 AM, at Morehouse College Public Health Sciences Institute, 830 Westview Drive Southwest Atlanta, GA 30314.
The singer-songwriter will lend his support to raise awareness about the importance of preventative health care among Black men.
“I am deeply grateful to the African American Male Wellness Agency for their recognition and support,” Green said. “This partnership is protecting our community through the health and wellness of Black men. Regardless of your fitness level, or how healthy you think you are, it’s important to know your numbers and what that means to your health status. That is why we are pushing for every man in metro Atlanta to come through and get a free health screening, which can save their lives.”
Atlanta Black Men’s Wellness Day is an annual event featuring a 5K walk/run and on-site health screenings for Black men. Participants can receive free screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, HIV, STDs, and prostate cancer.
Last year’s event drew over 1,500 attendees who took advantage of free health screenings, participated in the 5K run/walk, and enjoyed live entertainment.
Green joins a group of local Atlanta ambassadors for the 2024 Atlanta Black Men’s Wellness Day that includes Georgia Rep. Derrick Jackson (District 68); Georgia Rep. Eric Bell, II (District 75); Tony Terry, R&B recording artist; Ovie Mughelli, former Atlanta Falcons, healthcare consultant; Rafiq Ahmad, former president of 100 Black Men of South Metro Atlanta; Merlin Knight, vice president, Greater South Fulton Chamber of Commerce; Jared C. Additionally, Greg Clay, City of Atlanta Executive Director, the Mayor’s Office of Constituent Services, is serving as the 2024 Honorary Chair for Atlanta Black Men’s Wellness Day.
“In thinking about my own health journey, it is empowering to be a part of a community that cares and is taking charge of this topic,” Clay said. “The people alongside me in this effort, inspire me daily to eat better, exercise, and know more about my physical and mental health. September 14th will be a day of power and importance across our great city.”
