Georgia Film Critics Association Announces Winners for 2024 Year in Film
Atlanta, GA — After releasing a list of nominees last Tuesday, the Georgia Film Critics Association (GAFCA) is pleased to announce the winners and runners-up for the 2024 GAFCA Awards.
Although no film truly dominated the slate, “Anora” was the big winner, taking home three awards including Best Picture, Best Actress for Mikey Madison and Best Original Screenplay.
“Challengers,” “Dune: Part Two” and “Flow” each won two awards, with no other film winning more than a single honor. Aside from Madsion, other winners in acting categories include Colman Domingo as Best Actor for “Sing Sing,” Kieran Culkin as Best Supporting Actor for “A Real Pain” and Danielle Deadwyler as Best Supporting Actress for “The Piano Lesson.” Clint Eastwood’s “Juror #2” was awarded the Oglethorpe Award for Excellence in Georgia Cinema. Writer & director RaMell Ross won the Breakthrough Award.

Founded in 2011, this year marks the 14th anniversary of the awards program for the critics group. GAFCA is made up of over 50 film critics from around the state, representing print, television, radio and online media.
