Summer Chamblin Daughter of Fashion/Style Icon June Ambrose Launches New Hair Product

Summer Hope Beauty isn’t just a brilliant branding vehicle for this young innovator.  The product’s name is an amalgamation of SUMMER, the name given to her as the darling daughter of fashion maverick June Ambrose (named for June’s favorite season), HOPE, what she needed when pain and stress took her hair and her confidence (and her middle name) as she forays into the world of beauty, what the wunderkind wanted to give to everyone, including herself, to remedy an issue that affected her deeply and personally. Summer Chamblin – entrepreneur, chef, content creator, activist has a story to tell and a dynasty of her own to build and a destiny of her own to fulfill as she adds beauty mogul to her list of achievements.

The new hair oil was created when the physical pain of daily migraines caused doctors to try various medications to solve.  The impact of those intense medications and the constant stress of worrying led to significant hair loss for Summer. “Watching my hair fall out felt like I was losing a part of myself.” Undaunted, Summer took the inventive thinking that she learned from her proximity to fashion and creativity, and the fast-paced problem solving industry that she was always around, and knew she had to find a way to fix her problem. Research, study and community showed her that she wasn’t alone.  “My health has been something I have been suffering and dealing with quietly behind social media, but I am finally ready to share my story and, hopefully, be a light to those struggling with the same issues.”

Born from this journey, the Summer Hope Beauty brand is dedicated to empowerment, and helping people to find confidence – especially in recovering and reclaiming their strength. It’s more than just a hair care line; it’s a celebration of resilience and self-love. Through nurturing and effective products, Summer Hope Beauty helps individuals embrace their natural hair and rediscover the beauty in their curls. “My hair is my crown, my strength, and a source of pride, and it is my hope that this brand inspires others to honor their crowns and face life’s challenges with confidence and grace.”

The launch of the Summer Hope Beauty hair oil on February 1st, 2025, is just the beginning. It’s the first step in building a line that will  continue to grow. This will include a variety of products designed to nourish, strengthen, and celebrate natural hair.  Summer Chamblin, the founder and chief creative officer, is hopeful that she will empower confidence and self-expression through high quality beauty and haircare products. She created Summer Hope Beauty to help others embrace their natural beauty and discover products that truly work for them.

“I’m excited to continue creating solutions that empower others to love their hair and themselves fully,” she states.

Summer combines her entrepreneurial spirit, creativity, and commitment to authenticity. The brand is built on the principles of self-care, inclusivity, and embracing individuality. By offering hair care solutions that promote health and vitality, she aims to inspire people to confidently love their natural beauty.  In addition to running Summer Hope Beauty, Ms. Chamblin uses her platform to advocate for self-expression and personal empowerment.

Through her work, Summer Chamblin hopes to make a lasting impact in the beauty industry, celebrating curls and natural beauty every step of the way.

Celebrity photographer and disabled Vietnam veteran Jerome Dorn embodies the very definition of resilience. Born in Philadelphia, the fifth of seven children, Dorn stayed focused throughout his youth, eventually obtaining his degree in Criminal Justice. Dorn has worked with the Philadelphia Police Department, Department of Justice, World Wide Detective Agency, and several other high profile security groups. Throughout his successful career, Dorn wrestled with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, an aftereffect of his military service. Battling the pain and debilitating effect of PTSD, Dorn found comfort behind the camera. Photography proved to be not only therapeutic, but life changing as well. Dorn picked up his first camera in 1970 while serving in Vietnam and knew instantly that behind the lens was where he belonged. His shooting style and photographs were special, generating a buzz in the industry. In 1985, he began his career in photojournalism, working in a variety of genres. Dorn’s credentials include fashion, lifestyle photography, photojournalism, and celebrity/red carpet coverage. Working with MSNBC, Jet Magazine, and major publications in Philadelphia and around the country, Dorn has had the honor of capturing the images of hundreds of notable celebrities and politicians including President Barack Obama, George Bush Jr, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Maya Angelou, Jesse Jackson, Rihanna, Snoop Dog, Will Smith, and Tyler Perry. Photography has sent Dorn around the globe, inspiring his passion for civil activism. In 1995, Dorn assembled and led a group of forty-two men to the Million Man March. Together, they spent five days walking from Philadelphia to Washington DC. In his travels, Dorn observed a common theme amongst the youth of the world. Many of the children he encountered seemed lost. Understanding that opportunities for at-risk youth are minimal, Dorn was inspired to make a difference. Established by Dorn in 2011, InDaHouseMedia was built on the idea that there is room in the house for everyone. With InDaHouseMedia, Dorn’s mission is to provide the future generation with positive direction through sports, music, and photography.
