Leading Men of Film and Television Panel Set for Atlanta

Actor, musician, model and owner of Savage Brand Enterprises, Kevin Savage, along with our Media Sponsors SHEEN Magazine and Gagnant Media will present an extraordinary panel featuring some of film and television’s popular leading men on Saturday, January 21, 2023, in Atlanta at 8:00 p.m. The event will happen at Atlantucky Brewing (170 Northside Drive SW, Suite 96), which is owned by members of the Grammy-Nominated Southern Rap Quartet, Nappy Roots.

Atlanta Entrepreneur and Media Executive, Michelle Taylor Willis will Host the panel, which features Actor Kevin Savage (Lifetime Channel – Single Black Female, BET – The Quad), along with Actors Rico Ball (Netflix – Black Lightning, BET – Sistas), Julian Brittano (OWN – Greenleaf, FOX – Shots Fired), and Tray Chaney (HBO – The Wire, CBS – The District).  Prior to the event, there will be red carpet coverage hosted by Television Personality Summer Jackson (ANF – Atlanta Plugged In, CW – Vampire Diaries).

Attendees will also enjoy complimentary beer samples and live entertainment from viral R&B sensation Sean Love

The panel is the brainchild of Savage and features four working male actors, who will share  their career journeys and give insight into the entertainment industry. The Actors will give advice and explore topics about how to navigate auditions, secure an agent and book acting jobs. In addition to the Actors on the panel, attendees will also have the opportunity to network and socialize with industry professionals including agents, casting directors, directors, filmmakers, etc.

“I wanted to bring everybody in the same room to make sure all bases are covered,” Savage says, who is currently starring in “A Wesley Christmas” and “A Story to Tell” on BET+. He adds that although the panel features all men, all are welcome to attend so they can gain more insight into the industry. Additionally, attendees who have an interest in the industry should “know their why.”

“Anybody who is interested needs to know why they are interested [in acting] and that will give you the answer to know if you should move forward to show if you are truly passionate about it or not,” Savage says.

Willis, who makes her lead acting debut in the stage play, “Never Play with a Woman’s Heart,” is ecstatic to participate in the panel as the Host.

“I’m excited to be a part of this panel,” she says. “As an actor myself, we need resources like these for our community to help ensure top notch engagement and professionalism, and to provide inspiration and motivation.”

Savage, a Philadelphia native, chose to host the panel in Atlanta, not just because of the booming film industry, but because of the energy he found in the city.

Celebrity photographer and disabled Vietnam veteran Jerome Dorn embodies the very definition of resilience. Born in Philadelphia, the fifth of seven children, Dorn stayed focused throughout his youth, eventually obtaining his degree in Criminal Justice. Dorn has worked with the Philadelphia Police Department, Department of Justice, World Wide Detective Agency, and several other high profile security groups. Throughout his successful career, Dorn wrestled with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, an aftereffect of his military service. Battling the pain and debilitating effect of PTSD, Dorn found comfort behind the camera. Photography proved to be not only therapeutic, but life changing as well. Dorn picked up his first camera in 1970 while serving in Vietnam and knew instantly that behind the lens was where he belonged. His shooting style and photographs were special, generating a buzz in the industry. In 1985, he began his career in photojournalism, working in a variety of genres. Dorn’s credentials include fashion, lifestyle photography, photojournalism, and celebrity/red carpet coverage. Working with MSNBC, Jet Magazine, and major publications in Philadelphia and around the country, Dorn has had the honor of capturing the images of hundreds of notable celebrities and politicians including President Barack Obama, George Bush Jr, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Maya Angelou, Jesse Jackson, Rihanna, Snoop Dog, Will Smith, and Tyler Perry. Photography has sent Dorn around the globe, inspiring his passion for civil activism. In 1995, Dorn assembled and led a group of forty-two men to the Million Man March. Together, they spent five days walking from Philadelphia to Washington DC. In his travels, Dorn observed a common theme amongst the youth of the world. Many of the children he encountered seemed lost. Understanding that opportunities for at-risk youth are minimal, Dorn was inspired to make a difference. Established by Dorn in 2011, InDaHouseMedia was built on the idea that there is room in the house for everyone. With InDaHouseMedia, Dorn’s mission is to provide the future generation with positive direction through sports, music, and photography.
