WURD Radio, the only black-owned radio station in Philadelphia, has been a vital voice in the community, fostering connections and empowering residents for two decades.
This special evening will honor remarkable individuals who have been instrumental in shaping the station’s legacy of service. Esteemed honorees include Cody Anderson, David Barnes, Saundra Ali, Johnathan Bey, Aqueelah Jamal, Dr. Lucille Ijoy, and Lloyd Cummings.
These pioneers, along with other WURD Family members, will be receiving awards in recognition of their outstanding contributions. The celebration will also introduce the New World View Radio Program, now airing on Sunday afternoons from 12 pm to 2 pm.
