Celebration for Dominica’s Gold Medalist Thea LaFond-Gadson Continues in South Florida during Miami Broward Carnival Week, Benefiting Young Athletes in Dominica
South Florida will soon experience a unique and vibrant celebration as the Caribbean community comes together to honor Dominica’s first Olympic gold medalist, Thea LaFond-Gadson. As part of the Miami-Broward Carnival Week festivities, the Jump For Joy event will take place on Wednesday, October 9, 2025, from 6 PM to 10 PM at the Miramar Multi-service Complex, located at 6700 Miramar Pkwy, Miramar, FL. This event not only pays tribute to Thea’s historic athletic achievements but also aims to raise funds for young athletes in Dominica.
Celebrating Caribbean excellence has always been about fostering unity, and Jump For Joy does just that, inviting attendees from across the Caribbean diaspora, whether Jamaican, Trinidadian, or from any other island, to proudly represent their culture.
