Voices That Matter: Otis Smith Champions Authenticity on the Nterruptions Podcast

Otis Smith is the engaging and versatile host of the NterruptionsPodcast, which launched in 2020.

Since its inception, the podcast has grown into a go-to platform where athletes, celebrities, and influential figures from various fields come together to share their stories.

With a background in sports, theater, faith, and entertainment, Otis brings a unique perspective to each interview, offering his audience in-depth conversations and insight into the lives of his guests.

Before becoming a podcast host, Otis played semi-professional football and studied sports management, which gives him an edge when interviewing athletes.

His personal experience in sports allows him to dive deeper into the world of athletics, engaging with his guests on a level that only someone who’s been in their shoes can.

Otis also developed an affinity for theater through his “close friend,” who majored in the field.

This connection made it easy for Otis to expand his podcast interviews to include those in the arts, where his natural curiosity and engaging style resonate well.

Otis is also a minister in training, which enables him to foster deeper connections with faith-based guests, particularly within the gospel community.

His well-rounded background allows him to move seamlessly between discussing sports, entertainment, arts, and faith, making his podcast one of the most diverse in its genre.

Smith says, “My goal is to provide a platform where real, unfiltered conversations can happen. Whether it’s about sports, the arts, or faith, I want to connect with people on a deeper level and create meaningful content that resonates with listeners.”

The Nterruptions Podcast has featured a remarkable lineup of guests, including actor Ernest Thomas, R&B legend Will Downing, Melvin Riley of Ready for the World, Bernice King (daughter of Dr. Martin L. King), gospel artist Carvin Winans, actor Christian Keyes, director Bill Duke, Mervyn Warren of Take 6, gospel singer Byron Cage, Tina Lifford of Queen Sugar, Darrin Henson of The Family Business and Soul Food, and many more.

Otis’ ability to ask thought-provoking questions and connect with his guests on a personal level has made the podcast a favorite for many listeners.

In addition to YouTube (at OtisASmith3), the NterruptionsPodcast is available on SoulTV (on Roku), Soulradio, and Facebook, providing a variety of platforms for fans to access the inspiring and entertaining conversations Otis has with his high-profile guests.

Through these channels, Otis continues to create meaningful content that engages, educates, and inspires listeners around the world.

Celebrity photographer and disabled Vietnam veteran Jerome Dorn embodies the very definition of resilience. Born in Philadelphia, the fifth of seven children, Dorn stayed focused throughout his youth, eventually obtaining his degree in Criminal Justice. Dorn has worked with the Philadelphia Police Department, Department of Justice, World Wide Detective Agency, and several other high profile security groups. Throughout his successful career, Dorn wrestled with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, an aftereffect of his military service. Battling the pain and debilitating effect of PTSD, Dorn found comfort behind the camera. Photography proved to be not only therapeutic, but life changing as well. Dorn picked up his first camera in 1970 while serving in Vietnam and knew instantly that behind the lens was where he belonged. His shooting style and photographs were special, generating a buzz in the industry. In 1985, he began his career in photojournalism, working in a variety of genres. Dorn’s credentials include fashion, lifestyle photography, photojournalism, and celebrity/red carpet coverage. Working with MSNBC, Jet Magazine, and major publications in Philadelphia and around the country, Dorn has had the honor of capturing the images of hundreds of notable celebrities and politicians including President Barack Obama, George Bush Jr, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Maya Angelou, Jesse Jackson, Rihanna, Snoop Dog, Will Smith, and Tyler Perry. Photography has sent Dorn around the globe, inspiring his passion for civil activism. In 1995, Dorn assembled and led a group of forty-two men to the Million Man March. Together, they spent five days walking from Philadelphia to Washington DC. In his travels, Dorn observed a common theme amongst the youth of the world. Many of the children he encountered seemed lost. Understanding that opportunities for at-risk youth are minimal, Dorn was inspired to make a difference. Established by Dorn in 2011, InDaHouseMedia was built on the idea that there is room in the house for everyone. With InDaHouseMedia, Dorn’s mission is to provide the future generation with positive direction through sports, music, and photography.
