Otis Smith: One of Today’s Greatest Interviewers Connecting the World Through Authentic Conversations

Otis Smith is recognized as one of the greatest interviewers today with his standout work as host of the NterruptionsPodcast, a platform he launched in 2020. What began as a passion project has evolved into a trusted destination where athletes, celebrities, and cultural influencers come to share their stories in an authentic and unfiltered way.

With his dynamic background in sports, theater, faith, and entertainment, Otis offers a rare versatility that sets him apart from other interviewers. His ability to seamlessly move between worlds gives his audience the gift of depth and range in every episode.

Before stepping into the role of podcast host, Otis Smith played semi-professional football and studied sports management. That foundation allows him to connect with athletes on a level that feels natural, going beyond surface questions to conversations rooted in shared experience. His affinity for the arts was sparked through a close friend who majored in theater, expanding his perspective and sharpening his ability to engage with actors, directors, and creatives. As a minister in training, Otis also bridges the gap between culture and faith, offering faith-based guests the space for thoughtful and soulful dialogue. This unique combination allows him to confidently navigate the worlds of sports, entertainment, the arts, and spirituality, often all in the same week.

My goal is to provide a platform where real and unfiltered conversations can happen, Smith explains. Whether it is about sports, the arts, or faith, I want to connect with people on a deeper level and create meaningful content that resonates with listeners.

That authenticity has attracted an impressive roster of guests. The Nterruptions Podcast has featured actor Ernest Thomas, R&B legend Will Downing, Melvin Riley of Ready for the World, Bernice King, gospel icon Carvin Winans, actor Christian Keyes, acclaimed director Bill Duke, Mervyn Warren of Take 6, gospel singer Byron Cage, Tina Lifford of Queen Sugar, Darrin Henson of The Family Business and Soul Food, and many more. Each episode highlights Otis’ talent for asking the right questions, those that draw out stories, wisdom, and perspectives that listeners rarely hear elsewhere.

Available on YouTube at OtisASmith3, SoulTV via Roku, Soulradio, and Facebook, the Nterruptions Podcast reaches audiences across multiple platforms, ensuring his conversations are accessible worldwide. Through these channels, Otis continues to break barriers, amplify voices, and create content that entertains, educates, and inspires. With every episode, Otis Smith cements his place as one of today’s greatest interviewers, a bridge builder who brings people together through meaningful dialogue.

Celebrity photographer and disabled Vietnam veteran Jerome Dorn embodies the very definition of resilience. Born in Philadelphia, the fifth of seven children, Dorn stayed focused throughout his youth, eventually obtaining his degree in Criminal Justice. Dorn has worked with the Philadelphia Police Department, Department of Justice, World Wide Detective Agency, and several other high profile security groups. Throughout his successful career, Dorn wrestled with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, an aftereffect of his military service. Battling the pain and debilitating effect of PTSD, Dorn found comfort behind the camera. Photography proved to be not only therapeutic, but life changing as well. Dorn picked up his first camera in 1970 while serving in Vietnam and knew instantly that behind the lens was where he belonged. His shooting style and photographs were special, generating a buzz in the industry. In 1985, he began his career in photojournalism, working in a variety of genres. Dorn’s credentials include fashion, lifestyle photography, photojournalism, and celebrity/red carpet coverage. Working with MSNBC, Jet Magazine, and major publications in Philadelphia and around the country, Dorn has had the honor of capturing the images of hundreds of notable celebrities and politicians including President Barack Obama, George Bush Jr, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Maya Angelou, Jesse Jackson, Rihanna, Snoop Dog, Will Smith, and Tyler Perry. Photography has sent Dorn around the globe, inspiring his passion for civil activism. In 1995, Dorn assembled and led a group of forty-two men to the Million Man March. Together, they spent five days walking from Philadelphia to Washington DC. In his travels, Dorn observed a common theme amongst the youth of the world. Many of the children he encountered seemed lost. Understanding that opportunities for at-risk youth are minimal, Dorn was inspired to make a difference. Established by Dorn in 2011, InDaHouseMedia was built on the idea that there is room in the house for everyone. With InDaHouseMedia, Dorn’s mission is to provide the future generation with positive direction through sports, music, and photography.
