Q: Ann, congratulations on your latest single “Who.” What inspired this song?

Ann Nesby: “Who is a song that speaks from the heart. It is about love, reflection, and the lessons that come with truly seeing someone for who they are and recognizing yourself in the process. I wanted it to be honest, soulful, and something people could really feel.”

Q: The song feels deeply emotional and classic R&B at its core. How did you approach the sound and production?

Ann Nesby: “I always go where the spirit leads me musically. For this one, I wanted that smooth, soulful groove that takes you back to when songs had a message and a melody that stays with you. I worked with people who understand that balance of real music with real feeling.”

Q: You have built an incredible legacy through both gospel and R&B. How does “Who” fit into your journey as an artist?

Ann Nesby: “It is a continuation of my story. Every song I sing comes from experience whether it is joy, love, or lessons learned. ‘Who’ represents that space between vulnerability and strength, and I believe many people can relate to that right now.”

Q: You have sustained a remarkable career that spans decades. What do you think has been the key to your longevity?

Ann Nesby: “Longevity comes from staying true to who you are and continuing to grow. I never wanted to chase trends or compromise my message. I just wanted to be authentic and sing from the heart. I believe when you do that, your gift will continue to make room for you.”

Q: Your voice has inspired so many artists over the years. What keeps you motivated to continue creating and performing?

Ann Nesby: “I sing because it is my calling. It is not just a career, it is my ministry and my purpose. I am motivated by knowing that my music can touch someone’s heart, lift their spirit, or help them through something. That is what keeps me going.”

With “Who,” Ann Nesby reminds the world why her voice remains one of the most treasured in music. Her authenticity, strength, and timeless artistry continue to inspire, proving that her longevity in the industry is rooted in love, faith, and an unwavering commitment to real music.

Dorn picked up his first camera in 1970 while serving in Vietnam and knew instantly that behind the lens was where he belonged. His shooting style and photographs were special, generating a buzz in the industry. In 1985, he began his career in photojournalism, working in a variety of genres. Many of the children he encountered seemed lost. Understanding that opportunities for at-risk youth are minimal, Dorn was inspired to make a difference. Established by Dorn in 2011, InDaHouseMedia was built on the idea that there is room in the house for everyone.
