New Orleans Author Carlene K. White Encourages Families to Prioritize Healing, Wellness, and Self-Care

Healthcare Leader and Founder of Veritas Integrated Health Shares a Powerful Message About Creating Healthier Families Through Intentional Living

Families today are balancing countless responsibilities, from caring for children and loved ones to managing work, relationships, and everyday challenges.

New Orleans author, wellness advocate, and healthcare leader Carlene K. White is encouraging families to make their health and well-being a priority through her powerful message of healing, gratitude, and self-care.

With more than three decades of experience in healthcare, White has witnessed firsthand the importance of prevention, healthy choices, and taking time to care for the whole person.

Through her books and wellness platform, she is helping families recognize that creating a healthier lifestyle begins with awareness, intentional decisions, and a commitment to becoming whole.

White is the author of  Be Well Be Whole, a health and wellness journal designed to encourage gratitude, reflection, and personal growth.

The journal helps individuals take a closer look at their wellness journey while encouraging families to have meaningful conversations about health, purpose, and creating positive habits.

Her book, Stop Killing Yourself by Accident challenges families to examine everyday choices that may impact their long-term health.

Through honest conversations about lifestyle, wellness, and personal responsibility, White encourages individuals to take proactive steps toward protecting their health and the health of future generations.

In her book, Healing for the Helper, White addresses an important message for parents, caregivers, and those who spend their lives taking care of others.

She reminds families that self-care is not selfish and that caring for yourself allows you to be more present and effective for the people who depend on you.

“Many times, we are so focused on taking care of everyone else that we forget to take care of ourselves,” says White. “When families prioritize wellness, healing, and healthy choices, they create a stronger foundation for themselves and future generations.”

As the founder of Veritas Integrated Health, White continues her mission of empowering individuals and families through education, wellness advocacy, and meaningful conversations.

Inspired by the Latin word Veritas, meaning “truth,” her work encourages people to be honest about their health, recognize areas for growth, and take steps toward a healthier and more balanced life.

White’s unique perspective comes from her extensive healthcare background, where she has dedicated her career to improving patient care, healthcare quality, and community wellness.

She is a Registered Nurse, Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Certified Healthcare Quality Management (CHCQM), Sub-Specialty Certified in Patient Safety and Risk Management (CHCQM-PSRM), Six Sigma Green Belt (SSGB), and Fellow of The American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians (FABQAURP).

Beyond healthcare, White remains committed to serving her community through leadership roles with organizations including the American Heart Association for the New Orleans Region Board, Southern University of New Orleans School of Nursing Advisory Board, Dillard University School of Nursing Advisory Council Board, and Tulane Research Community Advisory Board.

Through her writing, wellness advocacy, and community work, Carlene K. White is reminding families that healing starts at home and that small, intentional choices can create lasting change.

Her message is simple yet powerful: prioritize your health, embrace your journey, and remember that becoming whole begins with taking care of yourself.

Celebrity photographer and disabled Vietnam veteran Jerome Dorn embodies the very definition of resilience. Born in Philadelphia, the fifth of seven children, Dorn stayed focused throughout his youth, eventually obtaining his degree in Criminal Justice. Dorn has worked with the Philadelphia Police Department, Department of Justice, World Wide Detective Agency, and several other high profile security groups. Throughout his successful career, Dorn wrestled with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, an aftereffect of his military service. Battling the pain and debilitating effect of PTSD, Dorn found comfort behind the camera. Photography proved to be not only therapeutic, but life changing as well. Dorn picked up his first camera in 1970 while serving in Vietnam and knew instantly that behind the lens was where he belonged. His shooting style and photographs were special, generating a buzz in the industry. In 1985, he began his career in photojournalism, working in a variety of genres. Dorn’s credentials include fashion, lifestyle photography, photojournalism, and celebrity/red carpet coverage. Working with MSNBC, Jet Magazine, and major publications in Philadelphia and around the country, Dorn has had the honor of capturing the images of hundreds of notable celebrities and politicians including President Barack Obama, George Bush Jr, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Maya Angelou, Jesse Jackson, Rihanna, Snoop Dog, Will Smith, and Tyler Perry. Photography has sent Dorn around the globe, inspiring his passion for civil activism. In 1995, Dorn assembled and led a group of forty-two men to the Million Man March. Together, they spent five days walking from Philadelphia to Washington DC. In his travels, Dorn observed a common theme amongst the youth of the world. Many of the children he encountered seemed lost. Understanding that opportunities for at-risk youth are minimal, Dorn was inspired to make a difference. Established by Dorn in 2011, InDaHouseMedia was built on the idea that there is room in the house for everyone. With InDaHouseMedia, Dorn’s mission is to provide the future generation with positive direction through sports, music, and photography.
