9th Annual Atlanta Fashion & Polo Classic Blends Fashion, Polo & Purpose — Raising $30,000 for Youth Equestrian Programs

More Than 3,000 Guests Gather at Bouckaert Farm for a Record-Breaking Celebration Featuring Tyrese, Celebrity Guests and History-Making Youth Polo Teams

Fashion made a statement, horses commanded the field, and purpose remained at the heart of it all as the 9th Annual Atlanta Fashion & Polo Classic delivered another memorable celebration of culture, luxury, sport and community impact.

Presented by the Miguel Wilson Collection and the Ride to the Olympics Foundation, the highly anticipated weekend raised approximately $30,000 for youth equestrian initiatives, continuing the Classic’s mission of creating opportunities for young people from underrepresented communities.

More than 3,000 attendees gathered Saturday, September 19, at the picturesque Bouckaert Farm in Fairburn, Georgia, making the ninth edition one of the largest in the event’s history.

The weekend began Friday, September 18, with an exclusive welcome party sponsored by Ben Crump Law at The Westin Atlanta Airport Hotel. The celebration then moved to the polo grounds Saturday, where guests arrived dressed to impress for an afternoon filled with high fashion, gourmet cuisine, signature cocktails, entertainment and competitive polo.

History on the Polo Field

While fashion and luxury helped create the atmosphere, the young athletes on the field represented the greater purpose behind the Atlanta Fashion & Polo Classic.

The competition featured the Morehouse Polo Club, recognized as the nation’s first certified HBCU polo team, alongside the Atlanta B.E.S.T. Academy Polo Team, the country’s first all-Black high school polo team registered with the U.S. Polo Association.

Adding an international dimension to the festivities, the event also welcomed a visiting Nigerian Polo Team for international competition.

For Atlanta Fashion & Polo Classic founder Miguel Wilson, the overwhelming support demonstrated just how much the event has grown during its nine-year journey.

“Even after nine years of doing this event, we honestly did not expect to receive as much support and excitement as we received this year,” Wilson said. “It means a lot that people took the time to come out and be with us. This means a lot not just for me, but also to the kids that we support.”

Tyrese Brings the Soundtrack

The energy reached another level when singer, songwriter and actor Tyrese delivered a special live performance inside the main party tents.

His signature sound added an unforgettable entertainment element to an afternoon already filled with fashion, fellowship and polo.

Atlanta’s Stars Step Out

The Classic once again attracted an impressive collection of entertainment figures, community leaders and personalities.

Among those attending were Mona Scott-Young, Toya Johnson-Rushing, Bryan-Michael Cox, Lamman Rucker, Terri J. Vaughn, Mimi Faust, Big Tigger, Kenny Burns, Portia Bruner, Guy Lambert, Derek Blanks and Pastor Jamal Bryant.

Former Atlanta Mayor and Georgia gubernatorial candidate Keisha Lance Bottoms was also among the public figures in attendance.

Together, the guests helped create the distinctive atmosphere that has become synonymous with the Atlanta Fashion & Polo Classic — where sophisticated style meets sport, entertainment, networking and philanthropy.

$30,000 Raised With a Greater Mission

Beyond the fashions, celebrity appearances and excitement on the field, the most important number of the weekend was $30,000.

Proceeds raised from the event directly support the Ride to the Olympics Foundation, which works to introduce young people from underrepresented communities to equestrian sports while providing leadership development and financial support for programs including the Atlanta B.E.S.T. Academy Polo Team.

Wilson said the vision extends well beyond Atlanta.

“Our mission is to expand our support for the youth polo teams we’ve established while building new teams across the nation,” Wilson said. “Over time, our goal is to create a national competitive circuit of youth teams competing against one another, opening doors to life-changing educational, athletic, and career opportunities.”

That mission gives the Atlanta Fashion & Polo Classic significance beyond a single weekend.

For many young participants, exposure to equestrian sports can introduce an entirely new world of competition, discipline, mentorship, education and professional possibilities.

Fashion With a Purpose

Now approaching a decade of impact, the Atlanta Fashion & Polo Classic continues to demonstrate that luxury and social responsibility can occupy the same field.

The ninth annual celebration brought together fashion, horses, entertainment, culture and philanthropy while directing attention and resources toward the next generation.

The event was supported by presenting sponsors Bentley Atlanta, Ben Crump Law and Indigo Road Realty, along with corporate partners Crown Wealth Management, Envo Water, West End Gin, 16 Solutions, The Fly Lawyer, Sweetie’s Caring Hands, Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Don Henrique Tequila.

From the fashionable arrivals and celebrity appearances to the thunder of horses crossing the field, the 9th Annual Atlanta Fashion & Polo Classic delivered the elegance guests came to experience.

But its lasting legacy will be measured by something greater:

the young people given an opportunity to ride, compete, lead and dream bigger.
