LINEUP OF PERFORMERS FOR PAN AFRICAN FESTIVAL IN DECATUR SQUARE ANNOUNCED
Decatur, GA — July 20, 2023 – The Beacon Hill Black Alliance For Human Rights is thrilled to unveil the exciting lineup of performers for this year’s highly anticipated Pan African Festival. The Festival theme is “Liberations Rising: Remember, Resist, Rejoice!!” The festival will take place on August 19, 2023, from 2 pm to 10 pm in the Decatur Square 30030 located at 509 N McDonough St, Decatur, GA. The festival is free and promises to deliver an unforgettable celebration of Pan African culture, heritage, and entertainment.
Attendees can look forward to an array of talented performers who will grace the festival’s stage, showcasing their incredible skills. The festival organizers have meticulously curated a diverse lineup that represents the richness and diversity of African, Caribbean, and African American music, dance, and art.
Among the talented performers confirmed for the festival are: Poppa Ellis – Featured Reggae/ Calypso Artist, Westmoor Drive: comprised of, Georgia Me, Abyss, Red Storm, and Tommy Bottoms- featured spoken word group, Mercy Myra accompanied by Mausiki Scales- Featured AfroBeats Artist, A LaZ- Featured HipHop Artist, Naka the Ear Doctor Featured DJ
The dynamic co-hosts of this year’s festival will be Osei the Dark Secret of V-103 and poet extraordinaire, Queen Sheba!
From traditional African music to Hip Hop, attendees will be treated to a diverse range of musical genres that celebrate the vibrancy and spirit of African culture.
In addition to the outstanding musical performances, the festival will also feature a variety of cultural activities, art exhibitions, food vendors offering delicious African cuisine, and much more. There will be an African Market Place, Children’s Village, and youth performances. The Youth Power Hour will be from 2 pm-5 pm!! DXOMX will be the DJ and performer for the Youth Power Hour, hosted by the Young Creators of the Black Man Lab, Mahogany, Qualon, and Decatur’s own Alec Myrik.
The festival aims to create a space where attendees can immerse themselves in the beauty and richness of African heritage while fostering unity and celebrating the spirit of liberation. The festival is FREE and open to the public. VIP seating is available but limited.
