BUY BYE ATLANTA’ NAMED SHORT FILM AND SCREENWRITER FINALIST AT PVIFF 2026

Atlanta docuseries receives dual finalist honors for filmmaking and screenwriting at the Peachtree Village International Film Festival

“Buy Bye Atlanta,” a docuseries by filmmaker Will Arnold exploring Atlanta’s Black wealth, leadership, activism and cultural influence, has been officially selected as a 2026 Peachtree Village International Film Festival finalist in both the short film and screenwriting categories.
The dual recognition honors “Buy Bye Atlanta” as a Short Film Finalist while also recognizing the project’s writing in the Screenwriter Finalist category at PVIFF 2026. The 21st annual Peachtree Village International Film Festival is scheduled for November 5-8, 2026, in Atlanta. The festival brings together independent filmmakers, screenwriters, producers, actors and entertainment industry professionals while providing a platform for emerging and established storytellers.
“Buy Bye Atlanta” examines Atlanta’s rise as a city where Black wealth, entrepreneurship, political leadership, activism, music and culture helped reshape the American South and influence generations across the nation.
The project features perspectives from Killer Mike, Kimberly Latrice Jones, DJ Greg Street, Scotty Smart, Gary Chambers Jr., Shar Bates, Pimpin Beatz and others, bringing together voices that reflect Atlanta’s history, evolution and far-reaching cultural impact.
“To be recognized by PVIFF in both the short film and screenwriting categories is an incredible honor,” Arnold said. “This project was created to document Atlanta’s story, preserve its history and recognize the people and culture that helped make this city what it is. Having both the film and the writing recognized makes this moment especially meaningful.”
As a PVIFF 2026 Short Film Finalist, “Buy Bye Atlanta” will also be included in the JaroGO Short Film Competition, an additional opportunity available to PVIFF short film finalists. According to PVIFF, the competition provides qualifying filmmakers an opportunity to compete for cash prizes, potential distribution opportunities and additional exposure.
The PVIFF recognition comes as “Buy Bye Atlanta” continues to build momentum and expand its audience. The project recently launched its official website, BuyByeAtlanta.com, providing a destination for audiences to learn more about the docuseries and follow upcoming announcements.
Arnold serves as executive producer and director of “Buy Bye Atlanta.” Perfect Take serves as director of cinematography, and Kimberly Latrice Jones serves as producer. Additional information regarding “Buy Bye Atlanta,” its PVIFF 2026 participation and upcoming screenings will be announced as details become available.

Celebrity photographer and disabled Vietnam veteran Jerome Dorn embodies the very definition of resilience. Born in Philadelphia, the fifth of seven children, Dorn stayed focused throughout his youth, eventually obtaining his degree in Criminal Justice. Dorn has worked with the Philadelphia Police Department, Department of Justice, World Wide Detective Agency, and several other high profile security groups. Throughout his successful career, Dorn wrestled with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, an aftereffect of his military service. Battling the pain and debilitating effect of PTSD, Dorn found comfort behind the camera. Photography proved to be not only therapeutic, but life changing as well. Dorn picked up his first camera in 1970 while serving in Vietnam and knew instantly that behind the lens was where he belonged. His shooting style and photographs were special, generating a buzz in the industry. In 1985, he began his career in photojournalism, working in a variety of genres. Dorn’s credentials include fashion, lifestyle photography, photojournalism, and celebrity/red carpet coverage. Working with MSNBC, Jet Magazine, and major publications in Philadelphia and around the country, Dorn has had the honor of capturing the images of hundreds of notable celebrities and politicians including President Barack Obama, George Bush Jr, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Maya Angelou, Jesse Jackson, Rihanna, Snoop Dog, Will Smith, and Tyler Perry. Photography has sent Dorn around the globe, inspiring his passion for civil activism. In 1995, Dorn assembled and led a group of forty-two men to the Million Man March. Together, they spent five days walking from Philadelphia to Washington DC. In his travels, Dorn observed a common theme amongst the youth of the world. Many of the children he encountered seemed lost. Understanding that opportunities for at-risk youth are minimal, Dorn was inspired to make a difference. Established by Dorn in 2011, InDaHouseMedia was built on the idea that there is room in the house for everyone. With InDaHouseMedia, Dorn’s mission is to provide the future generation with positive direction through sports, music, and photography.
