Grammy Award Winner and Legendary Hip-Hop Icon Antwan “Big Boi” Patton to Headline “Wednesday Wind Down In The Point” Season Finale

EAST POINT, GA.- A legendary hip-hop icon is returning home to close out one of the most popular summer concert series in metro-Atlanta. The City of East Point is proud to announce that East Point native, Grammy-award winning artist, actor, and philanthropist Antwan “Big Boi” Patton will perform his legendary hits at the “Wednesday Wind Down In The Point” season finale. Patton is one half of the Grammy-winning and Multi-platinum group Outkast. He is a graduate of Tri-Cities High School in East qPoint, Georgia where he met Andre Benjamin, better known as “Andre 3000,” and formed the iconic rap group Outkast and became a member of the Dungeon Family. In February of 2021, the City of East Point presented “Big Boi” with the Global Icon Award, Key to the City and a proclamation proclaiming February 10, 2021, as Antwan “Big Boi” Patton Day in the City of East Point.
Hip-Hop fans will also enjoy performances by YoungBloodz, Pastor Troy, Raheem The Dream and DKOMX. V-103’s Greg Street will serve as the host for the evening. Wednesday Wind Down In The Point” will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, from 5:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. in the Downtown Commons, located at 2714 East Point Street. Admission is Free. There will be a variety of food trucks and merchant vendors. Masks are recommended and social distancing is encouraged. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring their blankets and chairs. No weapons, smoking, tents, outside food/beverage or pets allowed.
The City is encouraging concertgoers to use MARTA, as the venue is conveniently located across from the East Point MARTA Train Station (2848 East Main St).
