Bay Area Heat Meets Southern Fire: Yung Heem Inks Deal with Atlanta’s Hottest New Label

By Dr. Jerome Dorn

From the soul of the Bay to the heart of the South, a bold new voice in hip hop is emerging — and he’s not asking for permission. Yung Heem, Northern California’s lyrical firestarter, has officially signed with Atlanta’s breakout indie label One Degree Entertainment, igniting what promises to be one of the most explosive coast-to-coast collaborations in recent memory.

The Bay Bred Him. Atlanta Is About to Break Him.

Yung Heem’s rise isn’t just a product of hustle — it’s a result of survival, self-awareness, and pure lyrical skill. He grew up cutting his teeth on Bay Area block cyphers, respected for a pen that pulls no punches and a flow as unfiltered as his story.

But while his roots remain firmly planted on the West Coast, the soil has shifted.

“The Bay taught me how to speak my truth. Atlanta is teaching me how to move it through the industry,” says Yung Heem. “One Degree felt different. It ain’t just business — it’s family, it’s vision, it’s real push.”

It’s that exact mix of authenticity and ambition that caught the attention of One Degree Entertainment’s CEO Kevin Bryant, whose growing imprint has been turning heads for its artist-first approach and strategic rise in the independent scene.

“Yung Heem brings a voice that’s unapologetically West Coast, but with the hunger and hustle that fits right into Atlanta’s legacy of greatness,” Bryant explains. “He’s raw, he’s sharp, and he’s ready. We’re proud to welcome him to the One Degree family.”

One Degree: A Label With the Heat of a Movement

Founded with a vision to uplift artists who don’t just sound different but are different, One Degree Entertainment is doing more than building a roster — it’s creating a wave. Blending major-label polish with grassroots grind, the company is redefining what independent success looks like in today’s music business.

Yung Heem’s arrival adds serious West Coast credibility to the label’s already growing national footprint.

With his debut project under One Degree already in production, fans can expect a fusion of Bay Area soul and Atlanta bounce — a sound that bridges regions, cultures, and experiences. In-house producers and features from the label’s own rising stars are set to make the project a cross-regional moment with mainstream appeal.

And if that wasn’t enough, his current release Heartbreaks & Success is gaining momentum on streaming platforms, further proving that Yung Heem isn’t next — he’s now.

Watch the Temperature Rise

This signing marks more than a career milestone — it signals a cultural moment. Yung Heem’s move from NorCal to ATL is a reminder that hip hop has no borders, only bridges. And with One Degree Entertainment fanning the flame, this fire is far from burning out.

“This ain’t just about music,” Heem says. “It’s about movement. And the game? It’s already watching.”
